What is an RGB Fan?

An RGB fan typically refers to a computer cooling fan that is equipped with RGB (red, green, blue) lighting. The lighting can often be controlled through software, allowing the user to change the color and/or create lighting effects. Some Corsair fans also include a remote control for adjusting the lighting. Corsair Commander Pros are commonly used in custom computer builds to add aesthetic value to the system.

What Types of RGB Fans are There?

There are several types of Corsair RGB fans that are commonly available on the market. Standard NZXT fans are traditional fans that have RGB lighting built into the frame or blades. They can be controlled using an included remote control or by connecting them to an RGB controller. Addressable Vetroo V5 fans have individually addressable RGB LEDs, which means that each LED can be controlled independently. This allows for more advanced lighting effects and patterns. Corsair LL120 fans require a separate controller or a compatible motherboard in order to control the lighting.

Corsair ML120 fans combine standard RGB lighting with the ability to adjust fan speed using pulse width modulation (PWM). This allows the user to control both the lighting and the cooling performance of the AMD Wraith Prism fan. Wireless RGB fans have built-in wireless controllers that allow the user to control the lighting without the need for an additional controller or cables. RGB LED strip fans come with LED strip lights and are different to the other types of Lian Li AL120 fans - they are not modular fans but come pre-installed with LED strip lights and are controlled by a remote. All of these types of LL120 fans have RGB lighting, but the way the lighting is controlled and the additional features available can vary depending on the type of fan.
