The design of a chute color sorter means that optical sensors installed on each side of the chute can be used simultaneously to detect impurities on both sides of a product. But one downside of chute color sorters is that individual items can be damaged on passage through the chute. Belt-type color sorter machines break less material, which is important for nuts, and the product stays relatively static in the transport process since it moves horizontally on the belt. The belt structure makes the transmission smooth and stable without breaking the material.
